I bought a house with ADT already installed and have the push button panel. The problem is once you switch to the touchscreen panel it won't work with your existing sensors, motion detectors, smoke detector etc so you have to buy a whole new system. You csn upgrade your panel to the new touchscreen for a fee, sometimes they will give you the panel. This will be the last time they try to retain you but over all remember these are just people who have to color in the lines not the CEO! You will get a better offer from retention. Acting like your insulted is also a sign you believe in fairy tells… a company expecting me to pay? Decline the offer and let them know you would like to cancel. That being said you can call and get a quote, refrain from being a entitled a hole(not saying you are) and ask for the best offer. Paying for it is up to you and you should not be surprised when they tell you no! It’s weird to expect a company to give you anything for free for paying for a service. They have the worst ratings(most security companies do) and they were called Apex security a few years ago but had to change cause they amassed a terrible reputation and are in the same boat now.Īdt is like any company and free is like believing in Santa clause. I would do some research on vivint before you go down that road. At some point you will be forced to upgrade due to connection being limited with landline or a cell guard if you have one. There is a $100 difference between the two. There are 2 options you can upgrade to, the touch screen or a smaller more basic version but has the same features but the touch screen. Likewise, if you have a question yourself you should start your own topic, not attempt to derail from the OP's question by posting your own questions in the comments. While elaboration and further suggestions are generally okay, the point of comments should be to answer the OP's question not to change the topic to fit your personal preference/beliefs. If the poster is asking about cameras, simply posting that they should get a gun is not acceptable. As in, if a poster asks for suggestions about a hardwired alarm, simply answering to get a camera is not acceptable.
